AutoSampler 2.3
Advanced MIDI Resampler

Other features

Round Robin Sampling

KeySwitch Sampling

Sample complete banks

Can be used with both hardware and software instruments

Multichannel/surround autosampling, up to 8 channels

Sample from audio device or AUNetSend plugin, for autosampling over the network

Integrated Keymap Pro 2-based mapping editor for creation of custom maps.

MultiNote, MultiVelocity sampling

Multidimensional sampling: you can sample and create instruments that switch between keymaps sampled with varying synthesis parameters. This kind of sampling reproduces the special dynamic synthesis nuances of the original sound source (physical modelling parameters, special filters, etc..)

Support for sample recording to Wave and Aiff formats in 16, 24 and floating point with high end noise shaping and dithering

Import Patch names from text files

Standalone application

Minimum supported system requirements

Apple Intel based Mac computer running Mac OSX 10.5, 10.6 or 10.7. 64bit mode requires OS X 10.6 or 10.7 - RAM: 2GB RAM - Disk: 5GB free disk space. The software requires a connection to the internet for authorizing and managing your computers.

Recommended system configuration
OSX 10.7  - Non-integrated GPU - 4GB RAM or more

Capture the sound of your hardware and software synths, automatically creating sampled instrument.

Just connect your synth, set a few parameters and click “Start”.

Creates ready to play instruments. No editing required.

EXS24, Kontakt, Structure, NNXT and Keymap support.

CoreAnimation-based intuitive interface with simplified modes.

Autoloop samples with the Penrose Machine DSP algorithm.

How it works

AutoSampler has been designed to be as simple as possible to operate. For sampling an hardware instrument, you just need to connect it to your Mac through MIDI and audio cables. The MIDI synth is sent a sequence of notes at various pitches and velocities and each sample is recorded, trimmed, normalized, saved and automatically inserted at the appropriate place in newly created instruments.

The whole concept works also for sampling a virtual instrument but this time the connections will be made through the use of a software instrument host, the internal IAC midi bus, and an appropriate digital audio internal patcher such as the freely available Soundflower by Cycling 74. At the basic level, you decide which patches and notes you want to sample and the number of velocity levels you want to capture. For each patch to be sampled, a new instrument/sample-set will be created by the software and exported to your desired formats.

You can also autosample over the network using the freely available AudioNetSend plugin from any AudioUnit host.

New sampling modes

AutoSampler provides new modes for sampling instruments using  KeySwitches (for sound changes), and for creating complex Round Robin instruments where the same sound is sampled multiple times to add subtle variations to the resulting sampled instruments.

A new optional autolooping option lets you autoloop the sampled sounds using either crossfades or the Penrose Machine DSP algorithm from Keymap Pro 2.2

Peak, RMS and Virtual normalization

Each sample can be peak or RMS power normalized either destructively, or virtually by modifying its playback volume in the instrument. The virtual approach ensures the highest quality and doesn’t remove dynamics from your sampled set.

CoreAnimation-based intuitive User Interface

AutoSampler offers a completely redesigned user interface, using a Core Animation user interface technology directly from Keymap Pro.

The new interface now incorporates a mapping editor, which can be used to create customs maps, and an integrated sample viewer. New simplified user interface modes show exactly what you need.

Penrose Machine DSP Autolooping

AutoSampler offers several autolooping algorithms, including the high-end Penrose Machine DSP taken directly from Keymap Pro. Using it is as simple as setting your desired loop start and end... for all samples at once.
